CERTIFICATION REGISTRY

National Framework for Pilates Education & Professional Registry

The Canadian Pilates Method Society (CPMS) has been established to provide a unified national standard for Pilates education, professional registration, and certification recognition across Canada.

Our mission is to create clarity, credibility, and consistency within the Pilates profession by offering:

  • Structured professional designations

  • A national registry of qualified professionals

  • A formal review and approval process for certifying bodies and educational providers

Certification Provider Registration

Any organization wishing to offer a Pilates certification recognized by CPMS must complete the following:

Certifying Body Registration $499 per year

Curriculum Review & Approval

  • Submission of the full educational curriculum

  • Supporting materials for review

  • Approval to ensure alignment with CPMS national standards

Educators delivering registered certifications must be registered with CPMS as either:

  • Canadian Practitioner and Educator, or

  • International Educator

Certification Course Registration Fees

Each course offered to facilitate certification must be registered annually:

$149 per course per year
$129 annual renewal fee per course

Examples include:

  • Mat Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

  • Reformer Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

  • Trapeze Table / Cadillac Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

  • Chair Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

  • High Barrel Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

  • Small Apparatus Certification — $149/year + $129 renewal

This structure ensures both educational integrity and operational accountability within the national registry.

Continuing Education Credits (CECs)

Eligible workshops and educational offerings may receive CPMS Continuing Education Credits based on scope, relevance, and clearly defined learning outcomes. Our educational governance framework is designed to evolve alongside the profession. By fostering cooperation among educators, manufacturers, and institutions, CPMS aims to strengthen professional trust, public confidence, and educational integrity within Pilates across Canada.

Workshop Registration (CEC Eligible)

Workshops registered for Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) under CPMS recognition require:

  • Annual registration fee per workshop: $149

  • Annual renewal fee: $129
